Start a timer when work begins or enter the start, finish and duration afterwards. Each entry can be connected to its customer, project, sub-project and task.
YouDoTime is integrated with YouDoProjects, so users select the project structure already used to plan and deliver the job. The result is actual time that can be compared with the allocated task budget and carried into weekly timesheets.
Use the running timer or enter the dates and times from notes after the work is complete.
Select the project, sub-project and task to place the hours at the correct level of the job.
Keep the customer relationship with the entry so later review and billing use the right account.
Mark the work as billable or non-billable and select the rate or service used to value it.
A useful time entry explains who performed the work, when they did it and which part of the job it completed. The entry form brings those decisions together without making the user recreate customer and project data in a separate timer service.
Selecting a task also preserves its project and sub-project context. The description can then record the result or detail needed by the reviewer, while the status and billable setting control what happens next.
This is a temporary application example and will be replaced with a current capture before final approval.
The task budget in YouDoProjects is the allocated time: the hours expected for the work. Time entries are the actual time taken. Keeping both connected makes the comparison understandable at task and project level.
The My Time list gives each user a practical record of their entries, including project and task, duration and current status. Managers can review the resulting hours without having to match exported timer labels back to the project plan.
Recording actual time is the first step, not the end of the process.
The project relationship identifies where the actual hours belong and which customer commissioned the work.
Detailed entries are grouped into a weekly timesheet for checking and, where enabled, submission and approval.
Billable time can create or update a draft sales invoice for the customer without exporting the hours to another accounting product.
Continue with team scheduling or follow recorded time into the weekly timesheet and accounting workflow.
